Parent Payments 2010

The parent payment set by School Council each year provides the vital funds necessary for Lilydale High School to continue to provide excellent facilities, and sufficient teaching and curriculum resources to ensure a high quality education for all students.  A significant proportion of the school’s cash budget is made up of parent contributions.

While every effort is made to keep these fees as low as possible, the school needs your assistance to continue to provide the excellent educational programs and the successful outcomes for students that have become the hallmark of Lilydale High School.

Your parent payment will be used as follows:

  • Class materials.
  • Maintaining and extending our library resources.
  • Providing students with a school planner.
  • Providing students with a copy of our school magazine - Salamander.
  • Providing and maintaining a Careers Department.
  • Providing Physical Education and sporting equipment.
  • Reports, awards, certificates and report folders.
  • Ongoing provision and upgrade of computer facilities.
  • Providing students with welfare support and peer support programs.
  • Bus passes to students.
  • Provision of ID Cards for new students.
  • Provision of Photocopier and Printer facilities to Library.
  • Subsidising inter-school sport buses.
  • Access to on-line resources, including Learning Management System.

The School Council has set the parent payment for 2010 as follows:

A discount of $30.00 per student will apply to all parent payments paid in full on or before December 11, 2009.  The discount will not apply if only locker/service fees are paid.

SCHOOL BUILDING DEVELOPMENT FUND CONTRIBUTION

The School Council will incur many additional costs during the rebuilding of the school. Although Stage 2 was completed in 2008, there will be a third and final stage to be built in the future.  Department of Education and Training funding provides facilities according to a centrally specified schedule.  Any additions, modifications or improvements must be funded by the school.

In Stage 2, school council funded the installation of evaporative cooling throughout the new buildings, extra office and support spaces and the installation of data and information technology infrastructure.

Please consider a donation to the building development fund.  Any contribution that you may be able to make to the building development fund will be very gratefully received and would represent support for both current and future generations of Lilydale High School students.

PROVISION OF SICK BAY AND FIRST AID FACILITIES

Parents are also invited to make a donation to assist in the operation of the school’s sick bay and first aid program.

A sickbay staffed by a fully qualified first aid attendant is provided by the school during school hours so that immediate attention to illness or injury is available to students at all times.  This service is provided by the school council and is not funded by the Department of Education and Training.

A suggested donation of $20 per family would enable the school to continue to provide this service.

PAYMENT PROCEDURES

Parents and Guardians are asked to complete the parent payment form and return it with the payment to the school's General Office.  If the discount is being claimed, please note the adjusted amount on the payment form.
